where do we begin? my time in Singapore was short, super bitin. I want to stay longer if I can. And if I knew there were too many places to go, I would have.

we were mostly in sentosa
universal studios singapore!

big stuff

lake of dreams and its water display
also saw fireworks

remembered my college days when we sit on lover's lane, drawing structures and sculptures

botanical garden. love the details on the gate!

what i noticed is that for a small city, singapore have lots of trees,
big big old trees which i love
and how these wild things manage to be 'organized'

mm! food! i forgot what it's called but singapore food is gooood

and sweet sweet fruits :)

indian altar at the house we stayed at
got to love this place and its diverse cultures

-end-
i shall return!

Not much on my Polillo trip this time. My family is building a church
(in which we direly need donations for, anyone?)
in Brgy. Sabang, Polillo

Almost done but no funds for finishing yet. Been taking so long, really.
Also, the electricity has been cut off the whole island. It was super hot contrasting the cold weather of Baguio a day earlier. Imagine not having electricity for a month!

What was fascinating tho, because the lights are all out,
I saw a lot of stars, and lots of fireflies lighting everywhere!
Thousand fireflies I think. Made me happy. I love those little creatures

Then Los Banos with my brother and his classmates. UPLB.
We almost got lost. I don't like walking in the heat. Especially at 12nn!

Side note: I find it ironic that Los Banos is a plastic-free municipality and found UPLB's cafeteria serving lunch in plastic-covered (plastic labo) plates..and plastic spoons and forks.

We went to the BioTech (a tricycle and 2 jeeps away) and passed by ricefields
Not that productive but still awesome! No pictures tho.

my heart's not strong for too many joyrides,,
this week has been busy! Went to Baguio and an hour after arriving at Manila, headed straight for Polillo, Quezon. Then a raket with my friend at Pasay/Paranaque. A Cinemalaya in between,
Then Los Banos with my brother. In a week! Who would've thought.

Baguio first, will separate entries for the others

after these, Im bankrupt again.

apparently, Good Taste has a so-so taste but good value for food!
90's ambience and budget food in quantity

More food! The next few are from Pizza Volante Restaurant along Session Road
Kenny George Pizza

Salad with Shrimps in Vinegar and Oil
then we added Blue Cheese because we're fickle

Shrimp Pasta

and Choco Vanilla Affair for dessert!
Hot chocolate cake below that vanilla ice cream hmm..

It was Cordillera Day when we went. A parade
People dancing with their bare feet. And men with toned bodies.
A number of tribes were there, as well as some marching bands.
It was fun, a side treat for the usual Baguio I see.

Watched Eiga Sai (Japanese Film Festival) at Shang Cineplex last Friday and I still can't get over watching Departures/ Okuribito.

Here is a brief description of the film:
Departures (Okuribito) is a Japanese film directed by Yojiro Takita. It won in the 81st Oscar Awards last 2009 for Best Foreign Language film. Aside from that, this film won other awards from various film festivals and the like. The film is about a former orchestra cellist, because of strange turn of events, ends up being an assistant for a certain ceremony.

So that you know why I love this movie is that I was instantly sold with the word cello (and japan and oscars) and how I love how they incorporated the music with the protagonist's life. Ive no words to describe it except beautiful.

Total inspiration!
I want to learn how to play that instrument badly. I want to create movies like that. I want to write stories again. It's like a switch to all my lust for art.
I want it right now but it isn't realistic so in the near future!! I hope!!
God, I hope!

Here is the soundtrack of Okuribito. Enjoy!

Hongkong this first weekend of July. It's my first time to go out of the country and am happy to be in a new environment at long last!

all buildings and no houses.
and unfamiliarly clean territory.

all we did was eat. Lychees which are in season. and walk
around the streets of Mongkok

there was a rally when we went there. apparently, even chinese do not like how they are handled by their government. i believe hongkong is one of the few (if not the only) places in china where they can exercise this freedom of speech.

ocean park for the first day.

this is my favorite mollusk, the nautilus! i believe this is the closest i can get to underwater photography

nemo!

and the animal that i can relate with. haha :)
