Day Two

Spent the whole day for shopping at Aldevinco, Abreeza Mall and tour around town

At around 4:30 pm, went to ZipCity to try the zipline. We arrived just before closing!
So much for timing. My brother and I were scared
(and our relatives too for our safety haha) but we were unstoppable.
I am afraid of heights ever since but kung nandun na ko go lang ng go! Hahaha
It was fun and bitin.
I want to try it again

Marang for dessert! One of my favorites!

Day Three

Sta. Ana Wharf for our ride to Samal Island

No Entry

After minutes of rough road, Hagimit Falls!

Im perpetually in love with waterfalls-es. Even if they're this muddy after a rain.
Hagimit falls is a cascade of small falls, more in width than height,,
The place is also too commercialized. Cottages and nipa huts are EVERYWHERE.
There is also an entrance fee aside from cottage rentals.

I saw a couple of birds in the area, oriental magpie robins, pied fantail, red keeled flowerpeckers, sunbirds, yellow wagtail and a black bird I couldn't identify

Maxima Aqua Fun, a resort just across Hagimit welcomed us with a hanging bridge.
And my thirst for thrill continues on the beach!

Waterslide, leading straight to the sea. 120ft deep.

More height adrenaline! The real planking.
Jumping on deep waters on a plank.

Spent the whole day here till the sunset. Haven't gone to the sea for a long time. Went snorkeling, tho not that many fish on this part of the island. Was hoping I could have an intro scuba but my mom was too scared for me. Next time!

Went home happy :)

Day One

We arrived at Davao early on a Sunday morning. Weren't able to sleep at all!
Picked up by Auntie and Kuya Roel and headed straight to
Shrine of Infant Jesus of Prague for the morning mass

The church is an open type, blending with nature.
I could see a number of pied fantails.
The priest was speaking Bisaya, we didn't understand what he was saying.

After some rest in their house, headed for Phil. Eagle Center

Where did the eagle go?

White bellied sea-eagle and my bro

And the Philippine eagle at last! Was hoping he was nearer but still, very handsome!

Brahminy kite having a fish for lunch

And a Bagobo woman if im correct, selling bracelets

My bro posing again, with an albino python

Then next stop at nearby Malagos Garden Resort.
They have all sorts of animals. From farm animals like goats, sheeps, chickens and turkeys
To the more exotic like the nicobar pigeon, cockatoos, parrots, peacocks etc.
You can feed the animals in their aviary
Maybe this is the closest i can get to these animals because I can't do outdoors like I used to before

Lots of ostriches around Davao

Then Jack's Ridge at night
Saw Kuya Jerry by accident, my mom's former employee!

Dead tired after
But still fighting!

Baguio
My mom dragged me up north to help her in her business. It was a ruckus and a pain in the brain. Good thing there was good weather and good food to keep our minds straight.

Breakfast at 50's diner.
Pancake Tower with orange syrup, condense milk, mango slices, cheese and strawberry jam.
Too sweet for my taste and I have a sweet tooth at that.
Or maybe im not a fan of oranges

Then Lunch at Session Road. This is at Oh My Gulay
owned by Kidlat Tahimik

an art haven. A feast for the eyes. Aside from a good view of the city, it hosts exhibits from different artists. The place itself, a work of art.

Food! Oh My Gulay as the name suggests, is a vegetarian restaurant.
Talong Parmigiana

Anak ng Putanesca and Dayap Iced Tea.
I like this one with its kick of chili. Mmm!
Pardon the straw.

Next day at Casa Vallejo.
My mom was eager to check this place out because she swears that the owner is a relative.
My grandmother's maiden surname was Vallejo
Apparently, the place was already sold to a former politician.

Paella cooked in palayok. Thumbs up! Kumpleto rekado

And complimentary bread
Good foodtrip overall!

I hardly use make-up unless for special occasions. My face usually breaks out when I put anything on it, but I can't go out of the house without sunblock . My skin is oversensitive to everything: from the sun, to cold weather, to soap so I always have to test things first.

So here's a rundown of sunblocks that I've tried and tested.

From L-R:
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight SPF 50++
Nivea Sun DNAge Cell Protection Anti Ageing Face Suncream SPF50
Beach Hut Face Ultra Sensitive Hypoallergenic Sunblock SPF65
Nivea Sun Moisturizing Collagen Protect SPF50
Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock Extreme SPF75
Nivea Sun Kids Moisturizing Sun Spray SPF 50
Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Sunblock SPF30
Hawaiian Tropic Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF55

Sunblocks for the face

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight SPF 50++
I have only tested this for a couple of days. It's light and good. It doesn't have a sticky feel as some of the other sunblocks but is quite pricey for a small bottle. My oily skin likes it and it's almost invisible. I only have an urge to reapply because of that.

Nivea Sun DNAge Cell Protection Anti Ageing Face Suncream SPF50
I've used two bottles of this one before I tested others. I wasn't quite sure if it was the lotion's fault or mine but as time goes by, the bottle got dry and leaves thick residue on the mouth of the bottle. The lotion is also thick & sticky and has to be spread well on the face otherwise you'll be walking white as corpse. Didn't get much breakouts from this one tho which is good.

Beach Hut Face Ultra Sensitive Hypoallergenic Sunblock SPF65
Good fluidity but my skin is sensitive with this one. Either I turn red from using this or turn red the same way when I don't use sunblock. Better for other parts aside from the face tho. Easy to apply but still leaves that white-ness.

Nivea Sun Moisturizing Collagen Protect SPF50
Better for body application than for face. But also dries out like Nivea Sun Face Suncream. Better consistency tho.

Sunblock for the Body

I've put Nivea Sun Moisturizing Collagen Protect SPF50 on both as it can be used eitherways

Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock Extreme SPF75
Used it only a couple of times but discontinued. My skin turns red with this. Good point is this one is a clear spray and doesn't leave white marks like the lotions. High SPF!

Nivea Sun Kids Moisturizing Sun Spray SPF50
What I've been using recently. Chose Kids version because i figure it may be more mild than the others. This one is colored green! So you have to spread evenly to make it unnoticeable. Spray version is good tho as it doesn't "clump".

Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Sunblock SPF30
Lower SPF than the others. Notice I don't use anything lower than SPF50. Hardly used but watery and not that sticky. Good enough and less expensive if you really don't need high SPF

Hawaiian Tropic Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF55
High SPF sunblock and easy to use. Have sticky feel and my skin gets irritated tho.

My personal preference is the Neutrogena for the Face and Nivea Kids for the body! Clear sprays are a no-no. Points up for hypoallergenic and non-sticky feel.
